Citizens Health Warns Against COVID-19 Misinformation

Citizens’ Health Initiative Nigeria has cautioned the public against the spread of misinformation during the COVID-19 pandemic, warning that false or unverified information could undermine public understanding and response efforts.

In a public advisory, the organisation urged Nigerians to avoid sharing rumours and to rely strictly on information verified by credible and trusted health sources.

It noted that misinformation during a health crisis can leave people uninformed, unprotected, and more vulnerable.

The organisation further encouraged responsible information sharing, especially on social media, and stressed the importance of accurate public health communication in managing the pandemic.
