Citizens Health Initiative Welcomes Ambassador Bola Asaju to its Board of Directors

The Citizens Health Initiative (CHIN) has announced the appointment of Ambassador Bola Asaju to its Board of Directors, adding a seasoned career diplomat to its leadership ranks.

Ambassador Asaju currently serves as a Minister at the Permanent Mission of Nigeria to the United Nations, where she has built an extensive record in social, humanitarian, and health policy over the course of her diplomatic career.

At the UN, Ambassador Asaju has carved out a specialty within the Third Committee, managing complex portfolios spanning social development, humanitarian affairs, and public health frameworks. Her work has centered on converting high-level international policy into concrete protections for the most vulnerable populations, including sustained advocacy for the rights of older persons and individuals with disabilities.

CHIN officials say the appointment reflects a deliberate push to anchor the organization's governance in both policy expertise and human-centered values. Ambassador Asaju is expected to serve as a critical link between administrative decision-making and the on-the-ground health realities facing the communities CHIN serves.
