President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo have received their COVID-19 vaccines as part of efforts to boost public confidence in the nationwide vaccination campaign.
The vaccination of the nation’s top leaders is aimed at encouraging Nigerians to embrace the COVID-19 vaccine and support ongoing efforts to curb the spread of the virus across the country.
Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, stated that COVID-19 vaccination certificates may soon become a mandatory requirement for international travel as countries around the world tighten health and safety regulations.
According to Mustapha, many nations are already adopting stricter travel protocols in response to the global pandemic, making vaccination an important step for individuals who intend to travel abroad.
He emphasized the importance of public participation in the vaccination exercise, noting that vaccines remain one of the most effective ways to protect lives and reduce the impact of COVID-19.
The Federal Government also reassured citizens that the vaccines approved for use in Nigeria are safe and have undergone the necessary health and scientific evaluations.
Health officials continue to encourage Nigerians to observe preventive measures such as wearing face masks, maintaining physical distancing, and practicing proper hand hygiene even after vaccination.
The campaign continues nationwide under the message: “Vaccines Save Lives.”
